In this lesson, we will be painting water reflections! And we will be using a photo reference from one of my favorite spots in France.
I came across this scene of sailboats with buildings in the background and the colors from the buildings and the surrounding greenery and the boats were just shimmering in the water. A perfect painting waiting to be done!
As I teach you how to do the water reflections with my simple
method (using a palette knife, of course), you will see how easy it is to paint water reflections of trees and just about anything! The sailboats is a separate lesson as the reflections can be painted
in any scene with water and reflections.
As in the other lessons, I will walk you through it with my choice of colors and values for the painting. We will touch briefly on painting the boats as the important part of this lesson is
water reflections!
