About James

I was born in Wellington New Zealand, and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980’s. I am now living in the country just outside of Charleston, South Carolina, when not spending time at our home in Southern France.

My work is known by admirers as “you have either been there or you want to go there.”

Now that we have a home in France, I spend time traveling to the village marketplaces, sea ports and cafes throughout Europe where I carefully compose the scenes through the lens of my wonderful digital camera and then I sketch the mood and scenes in either pencil or watercolor. Upon returning to my studio both in France and Charleston, I put palette knife to canvas.

How this site works

This site (blog) is a public one where all the video trailers are available BUT the actual video lessons are on a private site where only YOU as a registered member is allowed to see.

After the order has been placed for a particular video lesson, you will be granted access to that lesson's private blog. The blogger site is a Google product and you will be required to sign in with a Google ID. If you don't have one, it is an easy step, just remember your login information! Please add that site as a FAVORITE or BOOKMARK it on your internet browser on your computer.

The videos on blogger can be enlarged to full screen. The lesson blog will also include a page with more information from me.... tips etc.... You can click back and forth from the video and written instruction or print off the instructions to have beside you as you work!

I accept payment via PayPal but you don't have to have a PayPal account, you can just use your credit card on the site.
